Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Cartish Technologies can assist you in implementing a virtual private network (VPN) solution suitable for the needs of your business. A VPN creates a virtual “tunnel” connecting two endpoints such as your headquarters and a branch office. The traffic within the VPN tunnel is encrypted so that other users of the public Internet cannot readily view intercepted communications. By implementing a VPN, your company can provide users access to the internal private network from anywhere in the world as long as they have access to the public Internet. Cartish Technologies VPN implementation will not compromise your current secure network or the integrity of the computer systems and data on the private company network.

Businesses have two options to provide remote workers with secure connections back to their corporate networks; Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) VPN’s and Secure Sockets Lay (SSL) VPN’s.  Both provide secure site to site connectivity.

Internet Protocol Security (IPsec)

The IPSEC VPN requires the download and install of a Global VPN client which needs to be installed on all PC’s that have access to the VPN. The Global VPN Client utilizes 3DES or AES encryption to ensure the integrity and security of data being transmitted across the internet.

Features:

  • Can be configured to restrict access to specific networks or subnetworks
  • Supports multiple redundant gateways
  • Can launch login scripts once connection is established, ex. mapped network drives
  • Enables access from handheld devices using Microsoft Pocket PC 2003
  • Dial-Up VPN Connectivity
  • VPN Session Reliability

Secure Sockets Lay (SSL)

SSL is a common protocol that most web browsers already support, eliminating the need for you to purchase and download  “client software” to connect to an SSL VPN. SSL VPN’s allow more precise access control by providing tunnels to specific applications rather than to the entire corporate LAN. Users on your company’s SSL VPN connections can only access the applications that they are configured to access, rather than the whole network.

Features:

  • Secure remote access to mission-critical resources from virtually any end point—including desktops, laptops, PDAs and smartphones
  • Each user has their own personalized portal that is configured through policy which allows them to have access to only the resources they are authorized
  • Unrestricted concurrent user tunnels
  • Secure Graphical Web Management Interface for administrators to configure policies, monitor usage and update the appliance
  • Seamless integration behind third-party appliances
